Physiotherapist

Thomas Pelekanos

Following his High School graduation from Kosteas-Geitonas/CGS, Thomas kicked off his studies at the Physiotherapy Department of the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Thessaloniki. He completed his MSc in Physiotherapy at the University of Coventry, UK and then moved on to become a member of the ‘Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’ in the UK and worked at the George Elliot NHS Hospital as a physiotherapist.

After returning to Greece, he started working as a physiotherapist for the handball team of Ionikos and continued his studies in manual therapy under the Calterrburn-Evienth  method. In 2007, he and his brother Dimitris established the Physiolysis Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre. Simultaneously he took on the Greek National Team in Handball as a physiotherapist.

Motivation to improve his skills and his ability to heal people took him to the next step. He attended osteopathic seminars for 4 years, where he specialized on pacing evaluation and foot sole production, and for 2 years Thomas attended the Greek Firm of Algology as an acupuncturist.

On a personal note…

After 15 years practicing physiotherapy, I still view the patient as a human being seeking for my professional help and feel that it is my duty to improve their quality of life. My greatest reward is to watch a patient, who shared their difficulty with me, to be able to conquer everyday life to the extent they wish to. To achieve that, we, professional physiotherapists, need to all improve ourselves and continuously broaden our horizons by pursuing the evolvement of our science across time
