Eythalia Gargali

Gargali Eythalia graduated in 2007 from 1st High School of Neo Irakleio in Attica, Greece. In February 2008 she started studying at the Physiotherapy Department of the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens. When Eythalia completed the basic core of her studies she started her 3-semester clinical practice at the G. Gennimatas General Hospital of Athens, the Sotiria Thoracic Diseases Hospital of Athens and at ELEPAP- Rehabilitation for The Disabled. During her practice she came across a wide variety of musculoskeletal, neurological and respiratory incidents which where the milestone for her professional development. She completed her final semester of clinical practice at the ICU of the General Hospital for Children “P&A. Kyriakos” in Athens and the Children’s Oncology Unit-ELPIDA.

 

Eythalia has been trained in cardiovascular rejuvenation and in properly mobilizing mechanically supported patients. While in the Children’s Oncology Unit-ELPIDA she participated in the rehabilitation process of oncology patients and children with leukemia.

 

Then, she gained experience working as a physiotherapist for children and volunteered at ‘The Smile of the Child’ NGO. At the same time, she started learning the Greek Sign Language, along with her Masters’ degree of Prosthetics, Orthotics & Rehabilitation at the University of Strathclyde 2017.

 

After that, she worked as a physiotherapist at the Social Welfare Centre of the Attica Region (Department for Disabled People) until 2020. She mainly treated neurological cases (hemiplegia, paraplegia & paresis), orthopedic cases (occupational and other accidents), diabetic patients, cases of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and people with mental disabilities.
